A Decade of Choice: Canadian Perspectives on MAID draws on new national research designed to uncover how people in Canada view MAID today—who they trust, where they feel uncertain, and what they need next to make informed choices. The survey was commissioned by Dying With Dignity Canada and conducted by Environics Research in early 2026.

The findings reflect a broadly held value across Canada: People should be able to make informed, personal decisions about their own end-of-life care. While many people across Canada express confidence in how MAID is working, the research also points to opportunities to better support public understanding. In a landscape where mis- and disinformation are widespread, people may be navigating complex decisions without access to thorough, up-to-date, and reliable online information grounded in the Canadian experience.
