Advance Care Planning with BABEL: Improving end-of-life outcomes for patients and providers
On April 4, Dying With Dignity Canada was joined by Dr. Allan Garland and Dr. George Heckman to talk about their research on the Better tArgetting, Better outcomes for frail ELderly (BABEL) approach and how we can improve end-of-life outcomes for aging adults.
Dr. Allan Garland served in faculty positions at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Ohio, as well as the Director of their Medical Intensive Care Units.
Dr. George Heckman has held the Schlegel Research Chair for Geriatric Medicine at the RIA since 2010 and is presently an Associate Professor with the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at McMaster University.
