Join the Victoria Chapter of Dying With Dignity Canada for an in-person presentation with CEO Helen Long, on Thursday, April 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Helen will present an overview of the Parliamentary Review, including the release of the Special Joint Committee’s Report of medical assistance in dying (MAID), including the issue of advance requests, MAID for individuals with a mental disorder as the sole underlying condition, the protection of people living with disabilities, the state of palliative care in Canada, and the eligibility of mature minors. She will also address the issue of forced transfers from publicly funded health care facilities. There will be time at the end for questions.

Speaker: Helen has a long track record of informed engagement and empowering leadership in the not-for-profit, health, and wellness sector with a strong focus on advocacy, public relations, and organizational excellence. Helen most recently served as President of the Canadian Health Food Association, a position she held through a transformational period of development and growth for that organization.
