The Future of Assisted Death in Canada- Ottawa- February 23rd 2016


Professor Jocelyn Downie (Dalhousie University Professor in the Faculties of Law and Medicine) will explore recent policy discussions on physician assisted dying and will discuss some possible scenarios for end of life law and policy. Downie has served as a Special Advisor to the Canadian Senate Committee on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide, and has also served on the Royal Society of Canada Expert Panel on End-of-Life Decision-Making, the pro bono legal team in Carter v. Canada, and the Provincial-Territorial Expert Advisory Group on Physician-Assisted Dying. This event is sponsored by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation. 

This event will take place in English, with simultaneous interpretation into French available via cell phone.
