Jule Briese a retired educator, poet and songwriter and the author of The Hot Chocolate and Decadent Cake Society – Alzheimer’s and The Choice For MAiD – A Memoir in Poetry and Prose. She has facilitated workshops on Nurturing Grief and Loss as well as Compassionate Support for Those Challenged With Dementia Who Have Chosen MAiD (and for their nurturing companions) through Elder College affiliated with Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo. Jule has been a nurturing companion for her husband who embraced a peaceful MAiD death January 6th of this year, ending his 4 year journey with Alzheimer’s. She is currently writing Conversations With My Best Friend – Glimpses Into Alzheimer’s which she hopes to publish by December.
