CEO of Dying With Dignity Canada since March 2020, Helen is proud to lead a team dedicated to providing compassionate support to people across Canada while engaging on the most pressing issues related to end-of-life choice today.
Helen’s career has spanned achievements in advocacy, public relations, governance, and organizational excellence at organizations including the Canadian Health Food Association, ALS Canada, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and Dufferin Child and Family Services.
Helen was drawn to DWDC by the journey of a friend with ALS, as well as her personal belief that people should be free to make their own informed end-of-life choices in a system that provides a balance of autonomy, compassion, and safeguards. The death of her Dad in 2024 has only strengthened her commitment to end-of-life choice and advance requests for MAID.
Fun Fact: Helen got married at Scotiabank Arena and, along with her husband, is on track to see the Leafs play in every arena in the NHL. She loves her kids, cats, music, and sunny vacations.
