Join us for a provocative evening of presentation and discussion:
New Choices for End of Life
On February 6, 2015, the Supreme Court of Canada changed the course of history in this country by its unanimous decision in Carter vs. Canada that the Criminal Code ban on physician-assisted dying violated Canadians’ Charter rights
What does that mean for Canadians? What are the choices we now have? What does the new legislation tell us? How does this influence palliative care?
Our presentation will provide a brief background on Dying With Dignity Canada and the movement that propelled the change in Canada to allow for medical assistance in dying. It will summarize what the legislation tells us and what can still be accomplished.
