Happy New Year! DWDC kicked off 2026 with another Live Q&A. Last year, more than 800 supporters tuned in live with over 150 questions on advance requests, medical assistance in dying (MAID), institutional religious obstructions, and Advance Care Planning. This year, CEO Helen Long and Director of Programs Kelsey Goforth came back to answer your burning questions about DWDC’s current priorities, ongoing developments in the MAID space, and end-of-life issues that matter to you the most.

Helen Long, CEO of Dying With Dignity Canada, is proud to lead a team dedicated to providing compassionate support to people across Canada while engaging on the most pressing issues related to end-of-life choice today.

Helen’s career has spanned achievements in advocacy, public relations, governance, and organizational excellence at organizations including the Canadian Health Food Association, ALS Canada, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and Dufferin Child and Family Services.

Kelsey Goforth, Senior Program Manager at Dying With Dignity Canada

Kelsey Gorforth is the Director of Programs at Dying With Dignity Canada where she oversees education and client support initiatives. She was drawn to the organization by her strong support of bodily autonomy and her belief that talking about death and end-of-life values should be welcomed and not shunned. Kelsey is a requested speaker on end-of-life topics and has spoken extensively to organizations, universities and healthcare agencies throughout Canada, as well as internationally at the University of Iceland. She leads a compassionate and knowledgeable team that receives thousands of inquiries annually from people exploring their end-of-life options.
