Dying With Dignity Canada hosted Dr. Michael Bonares, a palliative care physician and researcher for an honest, thorough, and compassionate overview of ALS and what patients and their loved ones might encounter at every stage.

Dr. Michael Bonares is a palliative medicine physician at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and an Assistant Professor and researcher for the University of Toronto.
Dr. Bonares provides care to people living with non-cancer serious illnesses, including ALS. He completed his medical, residency, and fellowship training at the University of Toronto, along with a Master’s degree in medical science.
His research focuses on improving access to palliative care in people with non-cancer illnesses, including ALS, and exploring how to help people with ALS receive end-of-life care that reflects what matters most to them.
