Supporting those impacted by cancer
On September 19, DWDC was joined by Pancreatic Cancer Canada and Wellspring Alberta to discuss their incredible work and mission to support and empower those impacted by cancer.
- Amy Fishleigh, Director of Programs and Services for Pancreatic Cancer Canada. Amy Fishleigh joined Pancreatic Cancer Canada (PCC) in 2022 after nearly two decades working in Public Health where she focused on research, community engagement, policy development and advocacy. As the Director of Programs and Services with PCC, Amy oversees the patient support programs where she has the privilege of connecting with people who are impacted by this devastating disease. An important part of Amy’s role in supporting community involves collaborating with like-minded organizations to advocate and ensure access to vital resources and services.
- Scott Patterson, RN, Centre Manager for Wellspring Alberta. Scott Patterson is the Centre Manager for Wellspring Alberta’s Carma House and a Registered Nurse. Scott has worked in Canada, the United States, and Scotland, before returning to Vancouver to pursue his degree in Nursing. During his time at the Lionsgate Hospital, he worked in orthopaedics, neurology, emergency, and general medicine. Scott’s tireless devotion to promoting empathy and dignity in end-of-life care made him a perfect fit to join Wellspring Alberta.
