Digging Deeper into the Council of Canadian Academies’ Reports on Assisted Dying — June 18, 2019
Webinars | June 21, 2019

In February, Dying With Dignity Canada hosted a special webinar on the Council of Canadian Academies’ (CCA) reports on medical assistance in dying (MAID). That presentation focused on the CCA’s study on advance requests for assisted dying. For our June 18 webinar, we revisited the CCA’s studies, focusing on the panels’ two other reports on MAID.
Our featured speakers for this event — which took place three years almost to the day after the legalization of MAID — were:
- Dr. Kwame McKenzie, CEO of the Wellesley Institute, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and Chair of the CCA panel on MAID where a Mental Disorder is the Sole Underlying Medical Condition
- Bryan Salte, Associate Registrar and Legal Counsel, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, and Member of the CCA panel on MAID for Mature Minors
Hear from two of the researchers responsible for the most extensive examination of the potential implications of expanding Canada’s assisted dying rules. Watch now!
