Conversations about death: Why are they important?
On July 12, Dying With Dignity Canada was joined by volunteers, Don and Karen, who are facilitators for our Death Dialogues program. Through Death Dialogues, we’ve provided a safe and comfortable space for people to explore their feelings about death and dying. In this webinar, Don and Karen discuss the importance of having discussions surrounding the topic.
- Don Hunter is a registered social worker, psychotherapist, and child and youth counsellor with close to 50 years of experience. Since retiring from the Hospital for Sick Children in 2022, Don now maintains a small private practice. He now devotes more time to his family and writing, and has been a volunteer for Dying With Dignity Canada.
- Karen Hendrickson is a licensed end-of-life doula, grief and bereavement facilitator, and active volunteer for Dying With Dignity Canada. Her previous expertise combined with her current work as an end-of-life doula has allowed Karen to become well versed in the human dynamic, and what it takes to support others through change, challenges, and difficult times.
