Ask a MAID Provider
On Tuesday, October 24, we hosted a special session with MAID Providers Erica Maynard, NP and Aaron McKim, MD. Supporters had the chance to have their questions answered during the session.
Erica Maynard is a fulltime Nurse Pracititoner with extensive experience and leadership in the assisted dying space. She has served as a MAID assessor and provider for Nova Scotians since the inception of MAID in Canada in 2016, and has assumed many roles within the Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers (CAMAP). In addition, she also serves in an advisory capacity on the Provincial/Terroritorial Advisory Committee and DWDC’s Clinicians Advisory Council.
Dr. Aaron McKim is a MAID assessor and physician with expertise in emergency medicine, palliative care, and complex geriatric care. He is the Medical Director for MAID for Eastern Health and a member of the Ross Family Medicine Center’s Faculty of Medicine. His current work include helping to train assessors, manage complex cases and help expand regional MAID programs in an integrated community network
