M. Ruth Campling, BSc MD, graduated from UBC Medicine in 1981. She is a family physician with an interest in women's health, transitioning from obstetrical care, to midlife care, and finally to end of life care. She has held a number of volunteer positions including board member and President of Family Services of the North Shore, and President of the North Shore Menopause Society.
Viewpoint:
Patients have, on numerous occasions, expressed the desire to orchestrate their own dignified death. I believe this right is paramount to a fulfilled life. Death is inevitable. How we manage it should reflect the changing medical landscape.
