Join us in making Canada’s first advance requests for MAID framework possible

There is a new opportunity in front of us to make significant progress on the advance requests file. With the passage of Quebec’s advance request for MAID law last June and the recent introduction of Bill C-390 in Parliament — legislation that would give immunity to any province that legalizes advance requests for MAID within their own health care system — we may finally have a viable path for other provinces to follow suit. 

But the window of opportunity is closing quickly. In truth, with a federal election on the horizon, this is perhaps our final Parliamentary sitting in which a bill like C-390 could be passed, making the need for resources to power our ambitious advocacy, government relations, and public education on this issue even more urgent.

This is that once-in-a-decade chance to make meaningful progress ahead of a pivotal federal election.

To push advance requests forward this fall, our public education, advocacy, and government relations work will be absolutely essential. The funds raised in the next two weeks will determine how wide of an audience we can reach to educate and advocate for end-of-life choice, and for Bill C-390 in particular.
