Inspire & inform

Storytelling connects people through shared experience. If you have supported a loved one on a journey with assisted dying, received a difficult diagnosis yourself, or have encountered barriers to accessing the end-of-life choice you want, we are here to listen.

Your personal story can inspire and inform other people who are navigating end-of-life issues and realities in Canada and help them take control of their dying process.

Here’s what you need to know before sharing your story:

  • Take a quick look at the Dying With Dignity Canada blog to see other examples of personal stories
  • Your submission can be published anonymously or under a pseudonym, if you wish.
  • There is no required length or limit to your story, but most submissions fall between 500-1000 words. This is your story so it can be as short – or as long – as you want it to be.
  • We know your story is deeply personal, so we will always wait until we have spoken with you and received your final approval before we publish anything.
