It’s been more than one year since the passage of Canada’s assisted dying law, Bill C-14, but far too many challenges to your choice remain.
Please join us on November 2nd, World Right to Die Day, for an insider’s look at how we’re helping to defend your right to end-of-life choice. You’ll hear from DWDC CEO Shanaaz Gokool, who will be joined by two very special guests: lawyers Kelly Doctor and Sean Griffin.
You don’t want to miss out on this incredible opportunity to learn more about how far we’ve come and the steps we must take to ensure that access is respected and the Carter decision is upheld.
- Denise Blay, whose husband, Ed, accessed medical assistance in dying in early 2017, will speak about the compassionate gift of MAID.
- Kelly Doctor is a partner at the law firm Goldblatt Partners LLP. She represented Dying With Dignity Canada in Carter v. Canada and in a recent legal challenge supporting the College of Physician and Surgeon’s policy on effective referral.
- Sean Griffin is a partner at Langlois Avocats. He will represent Dying With Dignity Canada and AQDMD (association québécoise pour le droit de mourir dans le dignité) in our joint intervention in the Quebec constitutional challenge to the federal and Quebec assisted dying laws.
- Shanaaz Gokool is the CEO of Dying With Dignity Canada.
