We are thrilled to announce that two assisted dying trailblazers — Dr. Ellen Wiebe and Toronto MP Rob Oliphant — will be speaking at Dying With Dignity Canada’s Annual General Meeting on May 29 in Toronto.
B.C.’s Dr. Ellen Wiebe was the first physician outside of Quebec to offer assisted dying in Canada. A member of DWDC’s Physicians Advisory Council, Wiebe has been a vocal advocate for removing unnecessary roadblocks for suffering Canadians seeking to access assisted dying.
Joining her will be Rob Oliphant, the Liberal MP for Don Valley West, who acted as co-chair of the Special Joint Committee on Physician-Assisted Dying. Oliphant has actively spoken out against his own government’s overly restrictive assisted dying bill and continues to be a valiant advocate for compassionate choice.
To attend, you must be a DWDC member in good standing.
