DWD Ambassador Training - Kingston

Gloria Taylor has taken her fight for the right to die to the Supreme Court of BC. We anticipate that it will come before the Supreme Court of Canada within two or three years. While cases are decided by court justices, they are influenced by the court of public opinion. Can you help Canadians obtain the right to die?
At Dying With Dignity we support the fight for the right to die, but we also do much more. We provide information about all legal end of life choices and options, and we educate the public about the importance of advance care plans and to ensure their wishes for end of life care are going to be followed.
If you'd like to be a private ambassador or public speaker for Dying With Dignity Canada, then this training is for you.
This full, one-day session is facilitated by our Executive Director, Wanda Morris. It is open to Dying With Dignity members who are interested in spreading the word about our work. The one day session covers options at the end of life, options for those who want to self-determine their dying and a review of the legislation in place in Canada and around the world.
Lasting social and cultural change is not achieved through the courts. Legal change can prompt or assist in social change, but it does not assure it. The battle to change hearts and minds is equally important. Come help us win that battle.
Note this training is for anyone who wants to be an ambassador for Dying With Dignity. A DWD ambassador is a person who wants to be informed, to engage friends, family, colleagues or others in conversation and to respond to any questions that might come out of such conversations. Participants may also choose to become public speakers on behalf of Dying With Dignity but this is not a requirement.
Registration is required for this session. Please contact our Executive Director, Wanda Morris to register.
